Sharjah — The management of Al Majaz Amphitheatre has announced the completion of all preparations for the special showcasing of the musical play “The Shadows”, which will be staged on Monday evening in honour of delegates participating in the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF).
The second show of the musical performance will be held for the audience on Friday evening.
A stellar crew of high-ranking artists and hi-tech cadres, including famous Arab and international artists are participating in the theatrical and musical production.
Written by Lebanese journalist Nadine Al Asaad with music by highly talented Bahraini composer Khalid El Sheikh, and featuring Lebanese director Munjid Al Sharif, the musical includes an elite group of Arab artists led by Syrian Arab Idol star Hazem Sherif, Lebanese artist Carole Aoun along with the internationally acclaimed Inana Group. The group, which includes 100 performers from various nationalities, garnered worldwide fame for their mastery in highlighting Syrian folklore.
Osama Samra, Director of Sharjah Media Centre, said The Shadows will bring to Sharjah’s audience a different type of theatrical work that combines beautiful poetry and songs in various impressive acts that takes the audience back to the good old days and make them recall their sentimental memories while feeling happy about enjoying security, safety and tolerance in the UAE.”
Al Majaz Amphitheatre has seen final preparations during the past two weeks, including performance and vocal trainings, composing sound clips and lyrics and recording the poems recited by Dr Nadine Al Asaad and artist Hazem Sherif.
The Syrian Inana Group has also finished its trainings and preparations, to ensure the presentation of an outstanding and spectacular musical work, the first of its art genre in the region that conveys the message of love and peace that Sharjah aspires to achieve through this musical play.
The expert team of designers and lighting engineers have also finished their work in preparing the theatre according to different geographical and historical stages covered in the musical production, which will take the audience on a journey through history and around the globe in various impressive acts, traveling from present day Broadway to the Middle Ages, then back to the GCC on its way to the Levant and local folklore in various Arab countries.
