'Direct Line' (Al Khat Al Mubasher) is a programme that is simultaneously broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and Television.
It allows residents to voice their concerns about issues they face in Sharjah.
The programme acts as a link between residents and official departments concerned.
It endeavours to solve pending issues and problems, and to convey comments and suggestions from residents to the competent authorities.
The show's host calls up government departments or officials concerned to provide answers to people's problems.
His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has been known to regularly follow the show.
He even takes a personal interest in addressing pressing issues of residents and instructs to the departments concerned to follow up on some of them.
