Six children burned and suffocated to death in a horrific fire in Saudi Arabia.
The children's father Aidah Musaid Alanzi was jolted from sleep by the sound of his three-year-old son crying, at their home in the northwestern region of Tabuk, according to Al Arabiya.
He managed to stumble out of his home which was dark and filled with smoke from the fire.
The rest of his children sustained burns and suffocated in the blaze.
Five girls, aged 19, 15, 14, 10, and 8, and one boy, 7, succumbed to their injuries.
Another daughter, 20, managed to escape the worst of the blaze and was later hospitalised.
Hundreds of people from their city came to offer the bereaved family their condolences.
Investigations are ongoing as to the reason for the fire, speculated to have been caused by an electrical short-circuit.
The mother had gone with another son to visit relatives prior to the incident.
