Rumors regarding the death of former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf are untrue, said a party spokesperson on Thursday.
Mehreen Malik, Secretary General for Musharraf's party, the All Pakistan Muslim League said that he is undergoing treatment in Dubai.
Pakistani media reported yesterday that Musharraf had been shifted to the ICU of a Dubai hospital and was critical.
"The rumors have been started on social media by enemies of Pakistan," she said.
"We are all praying and hoping for his full recovery soon."
Musharraf is said to be suffering from a rare disease called amyloidosis that weakens the nervous system.
On March 31, 2014, Musharraf was indicted for suspending the Constitution on November 3, 2007. However, he left the country for Dubai on March 2016 to "seek medical treatment". He hasn't returned since.
Musharraf has not appeared in court for the trial due to deteriorating health. The special court, which is hearing his case, accepted Musharraf's plea on May 2 to postpone the hearing until the end of Ramadan on June 4, according to a media report.
The case will now be heard on June 12, Pakistan media reported.
