Punjabi New Year Celebrations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai

ABU DHABI - The World Punjabi Organisation, a cultural group floated by expatriates hailing from the North Indian state of Punjab, is organising cultural programmes in the UAE to celebrate the Punjabi New Year Day — ‘Vaisakhi 2009’.

The programmes will be held at India Social and Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi on Thursday and at Wonderland Park Dubai, near Garhoud Bridge,on Friday. Both these programmes will feature a dance-music show by Pammi Bai & Co, which is a premium performing troupe from Punjab, led by Pammi Bai, alias Paramjit Singh Sidhu, renownedsinger who has kept himself rooted in the basics of rich Punjabi folklore.

National Future Video Abu Dhabi and The Warehouse Entertainment Dubai are the official eventorganisers. The events are presented by Five River Holding FZC,according to a release received hereon Tuesday.
