Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf has rejected the committee set up by the government to redress grievances of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, opposing the inclusion of MQM senator Barrister Farogh Nasim.
It also criticised the appointment of interior secretary as convener of the committee, according to a statement issued by the party here.
Inclusion of an active MQM member would render the Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) partial, said PTI's spokesman Naeemul Haq.
He claimed that the constitution of the committee would not only affect the ongoing operation against criminal elements in Karachi but also termed the appointment of interior secretary as the committee's convener as an attempt to provide the MQM with access to sensitive information.
