On Tuesday, a video went viral allegedly showing a police officer in Pakistan's Punjab province dancing with a woman while he was in his uniform.
Several reports stated that the video was of Station House officer (SHO) Inspector Arshad of Kalyana police station in Pakpattan, dancing with a woman on a Bollywood song, The Tribune quoted.
The video shows a man dressed in police uniform matching steps with a woman in red trousers and a gray top. Soon the news spread like wildfire and reports stated that the District Police Officer Pakpattan, Maria Mehmood, reportedly suspended the officer and initiated an inquiry into the matter. While according to local reports, it was alleged that the video was saved in Inspector Arshad's cell phone and was uploaded by his nephew on social media.
However, the alleged 'cop' in the viral video came forward and revealed that he was not a police officer at all, according to reports in Pakistan Today. In fact, it was revealed that he was Shahzad, a stage actor who had donned the police uniform to dance with his fellow actor on a Bollywood hit number. "I am not a police officer, and we were just rehearsing," the stage artist told a private media outlet.
Meanwhile, a cop was actually suspended for posting a video in which he can be seen delivering a Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor's dialogue from 2013 movie Shootout at Wadala.
