Over 100,000 visit Zayed Grand Mosque

ABU DHABI - Over 100,000 people from different emirates of the country and many from neighbouring countries visited the Grand Shaikh Zayed Mosque during the Eid Al Adha holidays.

Residents from Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates came all the way to the mosque during the early morning on November 16 to offer Eid Al Adha prayers.

The entire mosque, with a capacity of over 41,000 people, was full with the worshippers.

Both locally and globally, the mosque demonstrates the aesthetics of Islamic architecture and uniqueness of the country. Shaikh Zayed mosque is an architectural landmark that represents the cultural heritage of the country.

Meanwhile, the second day of the Eid registered a crowd of 26,000 visitors at the mosque.

“The management had arranged five tours inside the mosque everyday from 10am to 8pm during the holidays while during normal days there are only three tours,” said Talal Al Mazrouei, director of activities and events at the mosque.
