Inspectors of the civic body’s health section recently conducted a raid at the outlet which was not displaying any signboard as it was not licensed by the municipality.
All food products, including meat and poultry, which was found to be unfit for human consumption, were confiscated.
Salim Al Mamri, head of the health section at the municipality, said the civic body had intensified its inspection campaign targeting food and medicines outlets.
The official added that mutton which is now available in markets is safe for consumption as stocks have passed all quarantine tests.
