NMC will 
back free media zones, says minister

DUBAI — Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the National Media Council (NMC) reaffirmed the Council’s support for the media free zones operating in the UAE.

He also stressed that the Council is coordinating with the media zones on attracting regional and international media outlets to the positive environment which the UAE offers as part of its openness.

Shaikh Hamdan made his remarks as he received Dr Amina Al Rustamani, CEO, TECOM Business Parks at the premises of the Ministry of Public Works in Dubai.

At the meeting, Amina gave a presentation on Dubai’s Media Free Zone and highlighted the facilities provided to media outlets to further enhance the UAE’s positive image.

She also highlighted TECOM’s compliance with the effective regulations and legislations to further boost business at the Media Free Zone.

Shaikh Hamdan expressed appreciation of TECOM’s role and his best wishes of further progress to contribute to the development of media in the UAE and to further enhance its positive image.

Present at the meeting were Ali Burahima, Deputy Director General, Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone; Mohammed Abdullah, Managing Director, Media Cluster–TECOM Investments; and Jamal Al Sharif, Managing Director, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Media City. —
