Mohammed bin Rashid orders release of 777 prisoners
DUBAI - Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as the ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 777 prisoners to mark the advent of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The prisoners, both citizens and expatriates, who have served various terms at the reformative and punitive institutions in the emirate of Dubai, will soon be released enabling them to join their families in the month of fasting.
Attorney General of Dubai Esam Eisa Al Humaidan said that the Public Prosecution has started coordinating with the Dubai Police to implement the order at the earliest.
He expressed sincere gratitude to Shaikh Mohammed for this gesture of benevolence, which gives the prisoners the opportunity to return to their families and integrate with the society again to start a new life.
