Welcoming President Khalifa to Algeria in a feature titled, ‘Towards more bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all areas’, El Massa Daily published Shaikh Khalifa’s Press statement on his arrival on Monday in the Algerian capital.
The paper said the visit comes as part of efforts by the UAE and Algeria to enhance their bilateral cooperation in the best interest of the people of both countries.
The paper also published a special report on the occasion providing an elaborate account of the UAE-Algeria relations and ways to further develop them and open new avenues for cooperation and partnership in trade and investment.
Another Arabic publication, Al Fadjr also featured Shaikh Khalifa’s statement in an article titled ‘UAE President expresses preparedness to enhance cooperation between the two countries’.
On its inside pages, Al Fadjr said the UAE is poised to be the biggest investor in Algeria, adding that Shaikh Khalifa’s visit is part of UAE’s efforts aimed at developing and leveraging economic partnerships with other countries.
In an elaborate account of the UAE-Algeria relations, the paper said the exchange of around 60 official visits between the UAE and Algeria is a clear manifestation of the existing level of cooperation between the two countries. Algeria, it said, “is a market with great potential for the UAE.’ With 25 to $30 billion in investments in the north Afrian country, the UAE has become the biggest foreign investor in Algeria, according to the paper.
El Khabar newspaper, also an Algerian Arabic publication, said, “Shaikh Khalifa’s current visit, the first by a UAE president since 1984 when the joint committee held its latest meeting, is expected to result in signing of a number of agreements, in the area of investments in particular.
Sawt-Alahrar quoted Shaikh Khalifa’s Press statement in which he spoke highly about the existing level of bilateral relations and cooperation as well as the outcome of the UAE-Algeria Joint Committee, which held its most recent meeting in May 2006.
