Indoor theme park to come up in capital

ABU DHABI — The biggest indoor theme park in the world and the first in the Middle East covering 80,000 square metres will be built in Abu Dhabi at a cost of 2.5 billion euros (Dh11.64 billion). The park will be completed by 2009.

Hollywood Adventures, a US-based group of companies specialised in theme parks, whose clients include Walt Disney and Warner Bros, and Italian Group Co, announced on Tuesday that they had just taken the first step by signing a Letter of Intent with Italian Arner Bank to establish a Real Estate Fund for financing the project.

The project will include an indoor Hollywood Adventure Park, movie theme park and international VIP centre, international horse racing track, Formula One motor racing training circuit, fountain park with the highest fountain in the world, congress centre with an international innovation centre, large residential area reflecting the themes of the Hollywood Adventure Park and hotels.

The UAE partner is the Italian Group from Sharjah, which has signed a contract with Leisure Entertainment Consultancy, part of Hollywood Adventure Group, for the master plan of the project.
