Hamdan assures support to MSF

ABU DHABI — Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has reiterated UAE’s determination to support Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in its humanitarian and medical missions.

Shaikh Hamdan, who is also the President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, said this while receiving MSF President Jean-Hervy Bradol here yesterday.

Shaikh Hamdan said: “The RCA gives special attention to enhancing partnership with international oganisations and always strives to bolster its relations and coordinate its programme with these agencies out of its belief that collective action is the only way to meet the daunting challenges in the humanitarian and relief work.”

Shaikh Hamdan also praised MSF’s humanitarian role across the world and expressed UAE’s sincere desire to further strengthen cooperation with the organisation.

Bradol paid tribute to the UAE for its assistance to developing countries and for its swift delivery of relief to the needy people around the world under direct support from the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He also expressed special thanks to the UAE for supporting MSF’s efforts to handle disasters and calamities in different parts of the world.
