Food outlets told to remove false ceilings

ABU DHABI — The licences of cafes, restaurants and foodstuff outlets that do not remove false ceilings used for storage, will not be renewed, said Mohammed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Manager of Communication and Information in the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA).

“The sub-roofs for storing foodstuff in healthy conditions must be constructed with the material that is used in buildings. Strictly hygiene should be maintained and the place should be separate from the café and restaurant area,” he clarified.

Al Reyaysa clarified, “We had issued notices to cafes, restaurants and establishments a few months ago asking them to amend their conditions but many have not adhered to it so far. So, we will not renew their licences.”
