Islamabad: Five civilians were wounded on Sunday as India's Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to 'unprovoked' firing and shelling on the Working Boundary in Shakargarh sector.
"Punjab Rangers gave a quick and befitting response to the Indian aggression, silencing their guns," a Punjab Rangers spokesperson told Radio Pakistan.
On Friday, unprovoked cross-border firing from Indian forces injured a civilian in Shakkargarh sector along the Working Boundary. According to the military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) targeted the civilian population near the Working Boundary.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had disclosed in a news briefing that India had violated the ceasefire, agreed in a 2003 arrangement for peace along the Line of Control and Working Boundary, at least 400 times this year.
