The family of the 24-year-old Emirati woman who slipped into a coma after a botched medical procedure has filed a complaint at the Dubai Police against the doctors of 'First Med Day Surgery Centre Dubai'.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) previously announced that it has stopped the centre from conducting any surgeries until investigations are complete. The two doctors involved were also prevented from doing any procedure.
As they lodged the formal complaint against the doctors, the family lamented how the woman suffered a "major heart failure for seven minutes" and fell into a coma during the operation, which was supposed to be a simple nose procedure to correct a deviated septum. The woman has been paralysed and in a coma since April 23.
Her aunt said the operation - reportedly done at a cost of Dh50,000 - was set for two hours. The woman's parents, however, allegedly waited for five hours, only to find out later that their daughter had already been wheeled out of the centre through the backdoor and taken to another hospital.
The case was highlighted on social media and, since then, it has kicked up a storm. In a post on Twitter, a relative said the girl's blood pressure fell and she remained without oxygen for seven minutes after medication was administered to her in the presence of an anaesthesiologist.
The relative said the patient has been transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
A DHA investigation is also ongoing and it is being conducted by a qualified medical committee.
