A 62-year-old man in Barnsley, England, dug up a sinkhole apparently looking for some bottles but instead got trapped inside. This ensued a massive rescue operation by firefighters, police and air ambulance.
According to The Star reports quoted in Metro.co.uk, a Facebook post about the incident said the man had become stuck 'right up to his neck'. It is believed that he had dug the hole in Elsecar, Barnsley, while looking for bottles on Tuesday.
Fortunately the man was rescued and taken to hospital. While South Yorkshire Police confirmed the incident, but did not divulge any further details.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We were called to this incident at 12:50 pm. We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, the hazardous area response team and the air ambulance."
