Dubai Police chief flays bomb blasts in Jordan

DUBAI — Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tammim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has expressed his deep sorrow and sincere condolences to the Jordanian people, government and victims’ families for the loss of innocent people in Jordan following recent explosions that targeted three hotels in the Jordanian capital in Amman.

Lt.-Gen. Dhahi Khalfan, who is heading the UAE delegation to the 29th Conference for Police Heads and Arab Security, which will open today and conclude tomorrow in the Jordanian capital, Amman, said that "we share a deep sorrow and sadness with our brothers on the great loss of innocent men, women and children killed by unidentified criminals who do not belong to Islam and the Arab nation."

He condemned the heinous terrorist act, prayed for the victims’ families to maintain patience and wished the injured a speedy recovery. With regard to the 29th Conference of Police Heads and Arab Security, Lt.-Gen. Dhahi Khalfan noted “our participation can be taken in the framework of Arab collaboration in security areas, strengthening efforts to combat crimes and exchange of experiences and information.”

He added that the conference will also discuss a number of important security issues that focus on the outcome of the implementation of the 28th conference resolutions, the Arab Agreement Scheme over computer crimes, systems of security and protection of important installations, VIPs and public transportation means, requirements for better policing, effective approaches of collaboration between the security apparatuses in Arab countries and framing of by-laws for Arab policing.
