Dubai is sparing no effort to make DSS 2004 a special holiday for visitors from all over the globe.

As part of the preparations, the hotel and hotel apartments are offering an array of special promotions. Offers showcased by the hotels and hotel apartments during the entire duration of DSS include airport transfers, complimentary breakfast, courtesy transport to and from the malls and Modhesh Fun City, and one night free stay for every paid booking of three nights in hotels. The prices offered by the hotels and hotel apartments have been tailored in such a manner that they are attractive to the entire family.

Laila Suhail, Project Director, Dubai Summer Surprises, said, "This year, we are glad to announce the active participation of many hotels and hotel apartments. Apart from providing world-class lodging to the guests, they will also be offering fantastic deals for guests, enabling huge savings."

Hotels and hotel apartments alike will also be offering special discounted rates for rooms, coupled with other services in order to make the guests feel comfortable. The four and five-star hotels have announced between 20 per cent and 40 per cent discounts in their prices. This follows the positive response received by them during the past. The occupancy levels in hotels and hotel apartments during DSS 2003 touched 98 per cent.

"The special rates offered by the hotels and hotel apartments reflect the close coordination of the private sector in the tourism initiatives unveiled by government, which helps in making the event a big success. The luxurious hotels in Dubai boast of every modern amenity that goes to make a dream holiday, including extravagant transfer services, exotic spas, ultra-modern health clubs, state-of-the-art business facilities and diverse adventure activities ranging from deep-sea diving to desert driving. From cozy coffee shops to fine dining and specialty outlets, the range of cuisines in Dubai is vast and the service is of international standards," added Laila.

The DSS has revitalised the hospitality industry in a big way, especially in view of the fact that various properties in the emirate used to record low occupancy rates during the lean summer months. Among the hotels that will be offering special promotions include, among others, Shangri La, Ritz Carlton, Dusit Dubai, Emirates Towers Hotel and Mina Al Salaam.
