News reports about three hours of fasting time in Omani village of Wekan has been termed as untrue by the Ministry of Tourism of Oman.
An official at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) told the Times of Oman

"This is not possible. Even if it is difficult to see the sun in some mountainous areas, it doesn't mean that the sun has not risen."
The media reports stated that the sun rises at 11am and sets at 2:30 pm in this village. The news has been doing rounds on social media also. The place was termed as having the shortest fasting hours in the world where people fast for three and half hours.
