You can take part in a swim-athon that is set to take place under the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab, and also do some good in the process. Registrations have opened for the Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim that will take place on March 31.
Marking the UAE's 2017 Year of Giving, Dubai Holding has pledged that all funds raised at the event will be donated to the Obesity Research Fund of Al Jalila Foundation.
Up to 700 swimmers are expected to participate in the 13th edition of the event in the 1,600 meters and 800 metres race categories in the pristine waters of the Arabian Gulf. The swim is open to participants aged 16 years and above.
Cedric Betis, chairman of Dubai Holding Wellness Committee, said: "Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is a prestigious landmark and a global icon for Dubai. Dubai Holding is pleased to offer such a unique opportunity for swimmers to not only swim around this architectural marvel, but also support the 2017 Year of Giving by raising funds for Al Jalila Foundation.
"2017 marks the 10th anniversary of Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme, the region's first-of-its-kind programme. Since its establishment, we have steadily grown the programme from overseeing executive wellbeing to initiatives for Dubai Holding staff, family members and the wider community."
