It will be organised by the Tawasel team in cooperation with the ‘Support Lebanon’ campaign of the Lebanese Business Council of Dubai and Northern Emirates.
The Dafza campaign will be launched on August 14 from 10am to 5pm at the Dafza food court, where employees and clientele of Dafza, as well as locals and residents of UAE are invited to come together to make donations and also to express their opinion towards the injustice being done to Lebanon.
Mohamed Al Sawan, Dafza manager of Strategy and Excellence and a Tawasel team member, said, “This campaign doesn't only aim to collect donations and aids, but to also strongly demand a ceasefire to the unfair attacks on innocent Lebanese masses.”
He explained, “We intend to raise a life-size wall as a tribute to the victims of the recent massacres. And all the visitors to the campaign will be invited to write their opinions and slogans on the wall, demanding to put an end to the bombings in Lebanon. This movement has been done in consonance with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Advocate Joseph Nohra, President of the Lebanese Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates, said, "All donations collected by Dafza on Monday will be added to the collections of the ‘Support Lebanon’ campaign organised by the council."
The ‘Support Lebanon’ campaign organised by the Lebanese Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates is still running strong and has been strongly supported both by the locals and the residents of the UAE. So far, 100 tonnes of relief goods have been sent to Lebanon, including which 5.6 tonnes of medicines sent through the Red Crescent Society to the Ministry of Health in Lebanon.
Moreover, the campaign has seen a tremendous increase in the number of volunteers, who are working on a daily basis at the Dubai International School; collecting, categorising and packing relief goods.
