The drill was to ensure that the officials are well prepared and trained to deal with any emergency at the venue. In the mock operations, the police received information that at 11am a fire was detected in the garment shop with 10 people trapped in it.

The fire fighters led by Captain Saeed AL Rahomi from the Al Rashiday Civil Defence Station rushed to the scene to see smoke billowing. The trapped persons were brought out safely in a short time. The search and rescue responsibilities were divided between the different teams for the drill. The rescue team set up a mobile ambulance centre to receive the ‘injured’ who could be transported by helicopter.
