The award office announced that the jury had submitted its recommendations to the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, in preparation of the announcement of the results next month.
The second edition of the awardhas three categories – Excellent Government Department, Excellent Technical and Managerial Project, and Excellent Employee, Khalifa Al Mansouri, director of the award, toldthe media.
“We hope that the applicants benefit from the feedback received, so that they may improve and develop government performance according to international standards and achieve sustainable and comprehensive development,” Al Mansouri further said.
The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance is based on the same categories as the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) as this model is applied by many countries to assess the performance of public and private sector organisations.
Yasir Al Naqbi, manager of the award, said the award aims at improving the services in government departments, implementation of best practices in operations, achievement of the aim to placeAbu Dhabi government among the five best governments in the world, instilling ofthe spirit of competition among the staff.
