The Apple iPhone will soon complete its 10th anniversary, a decade after Steve Jobs held up the original iPhone in San Francisco crowd.

According to media reports, the Cupertino-based company is preparing three iPhones for launch this year, including upgrades of two current iPhone models.

The company is testing a new type of screen, curved glass and stainless steel materials, and more advanced cameras, a Bloomberg report said citing people familiar with the matter.

The screen being tested covers almost the entire front of the device, resulting in a display larger than the iPhone 7. The company may also reduce the size of the handset by integrating the home button on the screen itself.

The device is expected to use an organic light-emitting diode display that more accurately shows colours.

According to the report, Apple has tested many prototypes, including versions that used curved glass and stainless steel.

The company has also tested integrating the fingerprint scanner into the screen of the OLED devices, but it's not clear if this change will make it to the final product.

Apple has also been testing the dual-camera system with the lenses positioned vertically, rather than horizontally, which, Bloomberg said, could result in better photos.
