The demonstrators vow to remain at the hall until their demands are met
Ras Al Khaimah - The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has started razing 64 deserted farms and houses in six areas. About 24 houses in Al Maamura, Julphar and Dahan; and 40 abandoned farms in Al Rifa, Al Jazeera Al Hamra and Awafi will be razed.
These land plots will be given to eligible Emiratis to build new houses, according to a top official here.
Munzir bin Shukr Al Zaabi, Director of the RAK Municipality, said they will raze to ground all illegal farms and houses in the emirate.
Aisha Darwish, an engineer with the Building Department at the RAK Municipality, said: “ ... These buildings had become dens and hideouts for criminals, absconders, infiltrators and drug abusers.”
