The names of the 50 winners were picked at an electronic draw conducted at Emirates Post headquarters in Dubai recently, presided over by Mohammed bin Shaker, Assistant Director-General, Zones Affairs, Emirates Post.

The prizes include 21 Nokia mobile phones and 29 gift packs containing an elegant radio and a pen. Winners have been informed individually. The names of all winners have been published on the Emirates Post web site.

“Emirates Post is strongly committed to spreading the use of online services for all types of public services and we have put in place systems that make online payment very secure,” said Abdullah Al Daboos, Director-General, Emirates Post.

“We decided to provide an incentive to those who renewed their P.O. box subscriptions online, and we were overwhelmed by the response.”

Online renewal of P.O. boxes was just one of the options offered by Emirates Post, the other channels being renewal by mail and at post office counters. Those who paid by credit card were not charged any transaction fee as a further incentive.
