Ras Al Khaimah's public service department has announced a three-day discount on fines registered by staff inspectors all over the northern emirate.
The 30 per cent discount -- valid from March 20 to 22 -- is meant to mark World Happiness Day, according to Eng Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi, director general of the department.
"The discount applies to anti-environment violations," he said, urging public to protect the environment, and report any violations.
"Gifts were also distributed to staff employees to spread happiness."
Happiness is one of the main ingredients for an inspiring work environment, he added. "A happy employee is able to think out of the box and bring joy to customers."
Meanwhile, a new drive has been launched to present a seedling to each and every house in RAK.
"The move, in line with World Happiness Day and the Year of Zayed, will help spread the green area in the emirate, bring happiness to the public, and encourage them to be part of environment protection."
