After Elon Musk announced that his company, SpaceX will send two people on the moon, it seems that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is joining the bandwagon
Bezos' own space company - Blue Origin, has reportedly submitted plans to NASA and the White House about a spacecraft that will land in the moon and be powered by the sun. The spacecraft will be shipping in equipment necessary for humans to live and settle on the lunar surface.
According to the Washington Post, Bezos said that: ""It is time for America to return to the Moon -- this time to stay. A permanently inhabited lunar settlement is a difficult and worthy objective. I sense a lot of people are excited about this."
But it's not only Bezos and Musk that are making strides towards living in other planets. The UAE's His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has also approved of a project that will see a city built by the year 2117.
UAE in Space
- UAE plans to send humans to Mars, set up city
- UAE's Mars 2117 is put in action
- Emiratis want their grandchildren to live on Mars
Putting this all together, soon enough we'll be able to enjoy spectacular views of outer space while we wait for our galactic parcel to arrive.
