His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received the Qatari citizens, who were kidnapped in the Republic of Iraq, upon their arrival at Doha International Airport on Friday.
The 26 Qatari citizens returned home along with others accompanying them.
They were kidnapped after they entered Iraq legally on a hunting trip in December 2015.
The Emir received phone calls on Friday from a number of their majesties, excellencies, and highnesses across the Arab and Islamic world, who expressed their sincere congratulations on the safe return of Qatari citizens.
Sheikh Tamim received phone calls from the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, King Hamad bin Eissa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
