Google celebrates UAE's 44th National Day

Honouring the 44th National Day of the United Arab Emirates, Google on Wednesday made a doodle with the UAE flag colours.

The UAE is celebrating its 44th National Day with traditional fervour. As the country gears up to mark the special day, it is also a solemn reflection of the spirit that unites the UAE. The day is also about celebrating the values that the country was founded upon.
The metamorphosis from a confederation of small tribal states to an important player in regional and international affairs has been quite remarkable. The vision of the leadership, especially that of late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan not only unified the country but also developed it into one of the world's most open, tolerant and successful economies.
It is this idea of the UAE that everyone - nationals, non-nationals, young and the old alike - celebrates.
