BLOG: First guests arrive at Legoland Dubai

Dubai - Legoland and Riverland Dubai are now open to the public.

Two of Dubai's most anticipated sites - Legoland and Riverland Dubai - have opened their doors to the public today, marking the first day of Dubai Parks and Resorts.+

The Dh13-billion development is set to become the Middle East's largest multi-themed leisure and entertainment destination.

In addition to LEGOLAND and Riverlands Dubai, the development will eventually grow to two additional theme parks - the Hollywood-inspired Motiongate Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai - as well as the Polynesian-theme Lapita Hotel.

Motiongate:

Opens on December 16

Price: Dh330 for adults, Dh280 for children and seniors. Annual pass will cost Dh865.

Largest theme park in Dubai Parks and Resorts at 30.6 million square-feet

Five unique Hollywood-inspired zones: Studio Central, Sony Pictures Studios, DreamWorks, Liongate and Smurfs Village

Designed to be used year round, with 21 key attractions completely indoors

Among the rides are some inspired by Ghostbusters, the Green Hornet and Zombieland.

Bollywood Parks Dubai:

Opens on November 16

Price: Dh285 per adult for one day, Dh250 for children and seniors. Annual passes will be Dh755 per person.

First Bollywood-themed the park ever built

Three million square feet in size

Five themed areas developed in partnership with Mumbai's most significant film studios: Bollywood Film Studios, Mumbai Chowk, Hall of Heroes, Regal Plaza and Rustic Ravine

Includes "Bollywood Boulevard' which will include live entertainment and performances, character interactions and street theatre

Bollywood stars have been involved in the design, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar.

Includes an 850-seat theatre, the Rajmahal Theatre

Includes rides recreating some of the most iconic Bollywood films, such as Don: The Chase, featuring Shah Rukh Khan

LEGOLAND Water Park

Opens today

Price: Dh240 per adult and Dh205 for children and seniors

Only water park in the region developed specifically for families with children aged between two and 12.

Includes more than 20 attractions and water slides, including the hotly anticipated "Build-a-Raft River" in which guests can construct their own vessel using soft LEGO bricks.

Other attractions include the LEGO Wave Pool, LEGO Slide Racers, the 'Twist N Spin' in which one slides down individually or with a friend on a double tube, and the DUPLO toddler lay area designed for smaller children.

Lapita Hotel:

Polynesian theme hotel

501 guest rooms and three villas

Includes adventure playgrounds, Lagoon-style swimming pools and spas

Will include five restaurants and bars, one of which will draw inspiration from the rhythm of a tropical rainforest

Riverland:

Opens today

Price: Free to enter

234,000 square-foot

Divided into four main zones offering a glimpse into history: The 1950's-America-themed Boardwalk, the medieval France French Village, colonial India through the India Gate, and the 19th century-themed Peninsula.

A kilometre-long river runs through all the zones

Almost 60 restaurants and entertainment offerings, as well as street performances, concerts and various festivals.

LEGOLAND Dubai

Opens today

Price: One day for Dh295 per adult and Dh250 for children and seniors for LEGOLAND. Annual passes are Dh765 to LEGOLAND.

How to reach Dubai Parks and Resorts

Dubai Parks and Resorts is located on Shaikh Zayed Road, opposite Palm Jebel Ali

By Public Transport:

Take the red metro line to the end station, Jebel Ali. From there take a taxi to Dubai Parks and Resorts

By car: From Downtown Dubai, head south of Shaikh Zayed Road, past Dubai Marina and Jebel Ali, till you see Dubai Parks and Resorts on the left side of the road.
