5 cheap vacations to spend UAE's last long weekend of 2016

Dubai - To help you plan your last long weekend of the year, we bring you some budget holiday packages.

Just as UAE residents were dragging themselves back to work after the long National Day-Commemoration Day weekend, another three-day break is round the corner.

UAE is likely to mark December 11 (Rabi Al Awwal 12) -- a Sunday -- as Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday, subject to an official announcement.

To help you plan your last long weekend of the year, we bring you some budget holiday packages, as announced by Sharjah-based airline Air Arabia.

The airline has announced holiday packages for as low as Dh740 per person, flights and hotel stay included.

All UAE airlines had announced special fares for the National Day long weekend. While Etihad introduced the 45 on 45 offer -- travel to 45 destinations at 45 per cent of the original price, Emirates launched special fares to select destinations in GCC, India and Pakistan. FlyDubai had offered 45 per cent discount on economy and business class tickets, and return fares were as low as Dh398.
