A fire broke out in a vehicle on Tuesday morning near a school complex in the Al Jarf area of Ajman.
A fire brigade and rescue unit, from the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Ajman, immediately rushed to the site of the fire and extinguished it. There were no injuries.
Lt.Col Mustafa Sultan Al Ali, Head of Al Jarf fire station said they were alerted about the fire via a call at 8:00 am.
The driver managed to escape the blaze, which started in the front side of the car, gradually spreading other parts of the car.
Al Ali urged to motorists to:
- Daily monitor the cooling water and engine oil levels of their vehicle.
- Have regular maintenance check ups by a specialist
- Close the fuel tank to prevent leakages, avoiding the risk of an ignition-related blaze.
- Drivers also must also have a fire extinguisher in the vehicle and be trained on how to use it.
"Prevention is better than treatment," he added.
