Brush your hair thoroughly and then massage some coconut milk into your scalp and hair. Leave this on for about an hour, and then shampoo. Do this three times a week, and remember to take care of your diet! A healthy diet leads to healthy hair.
I have developed a body odour of late; it smells like spice. I can’t help but wonder if this is because of a reduced intake of water, or because of something else... I have been trying on strong deodorants, but am looking for a more permanent solution. Please give me some advice. I’m a 34-year-old man. - Shoaib
Make sure that you drink at least two litres of water every day. Add mint leaves and lemon slices to the water you drink, as these have cleansing properties. After a couple of months, you will have a fresher scent and the body odour will dissipate.
I’m a 13-year-old girl. I walk to school everyday and get tanned very easily. Please suggest a way I can get rid of my tan and lighten my skin colour. Amna
Ensure that you wear a sunscreen that is at least SPF 30, about 20 minutes before you step out of the house. You can also apply papaya or tomato purée to the tanned area to help keep your skin bright.
I’m a 15-year-old girl and I have dark knees and knuckles. Please tell me how I can lighten them. I also want to lighten my complexion and get rid of the dark circles under my eyes. Moreover, I have a bad case of acne, especially around my nose and they are quite difficult to cover up, as the bumps against my skin look all the more prominent when I try applying makeup. I have been avoiding makeup because of this. Please help me. Name withheld
You can lighten the skin on your knees, knuckles and face with a mask made of coconut milk, oats powder and rice powder. Apply a thick layer onto your skin and scrub off with damp hands after it dries. Do this twice a day. For your acne, take one tbsp of tomato juice and mix it with cornflour to create a thick paste. Apply a layer onto your face and rinse with cold water after it dries.
I’m 26 years old and I feel that my complexion at the moment is quite dark, as compared to when I was a child. I also have pimple marks on my face, which I really want to get rid of. Also, please tell me what I can do to get a healthy, natural blush on my cheeks. Finally, do you know how I can make my eyelashes thicker and my lips a bit pinker? I really believe in your home remedies, and trust you will be able to suggest the perfect remedies for all my beauty problems. Bushra
The skin gets a pinkish complexion when it is healthy — so make sure you include plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day and add an exercise regime to your schedule. For your face, make a mask using strawberry purée and almond powder.
Dab some castor oil onto your eyelashes to make them thicker. And finally, apply a thin film of glycerine with a drop of lemon juice to your lips; it will soften and brighten them.
