I am 30 years old. Is it true that shaving makes the skin darker? My underarms are really dark and I have been shaving for years. I don't wish to do laser. Can you tell me how to lighten it?
-Kristal
Shaving hair from legs or underarms does not remove hair from the roots; waxing is the best treatment for that as it leaves the skin clean, soft and light. To lighten underarms, simply make a mask with 1 teaspoon coconut milk, 1 teaspoon honey and 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel. Add some almond powder to this and mix well; apply on underarms. Leave to dry for 10 minutes and then, scrub off. Do this twice a week. Every night, you may also rub coconut oil on the dark underarms and leave overnight.

My palms are very dry and rough. Do you have a natural exfoliating treatment to help make them soft and smooth again? Please help.

Sugar with rose water and a few drops of coconut oil will do the trick. Scrub your hands thoroughly with this twice a day. Your palms will be soft and smooth in no time.

I've read that rinsing hair with a blend of apple cider vinegar does wonders for it. Is this a myth or will it yield results if I try it too?

Apple cider vinegar balances the pH of your scalp. The hair gets natural moisture and gets conditioned too. Doing this will help add sheen to your hair.
I am a 27-year-old and soon to be married. I wanted to know about the best homemade remedies to keep skin healthy, glowing and free from acne and blackheads. I've got dark circles under my eyes as well as puffiness. Can you please suggest a good remedy for this that can give me quick results? Also, do you have any effective remedy to cure cracked heels?
- Name withheld
Prepare a mask of strawberry purée beaten well with honey. Add a few of drops lemon juice and equal portions of almond, oats and rice powder. Apply this to your face. Cold milk packs are best for dark circles. When your face mask dries, pat with cold water, loosen mask and gently scrub and rinse off with cold water. Do this every day for best results. Massage dry, cracked heels with glycerine and a few drops of lemon juice. Wear socks immediately to keep treatment on skin. Leave on overnight.
