The number one item on your wish list.
Unlimited airline tickets! I love travelling, exploring new places and meeting friends around the world.
One life lesson you'd want to share.
I left my native Finland to go to university in the UK and have since lived in several regions, including America, Europe and the Middle East. Being a bit of a (happy) gypsy has taught me that what matters most are people in our lives. Places change, jobs change, but your friends and family will stay wherever you are. Treat the people close to you like they are your everything... because they are.
The biggest learning point or experience in your life.
Starting my first business and becoming my own boss had been a life-long dream. I feel like running my own business (Dunesi being my second business venture to date) is a continuous learning curve and the "jump" into entrepreneurship definitely has been one of the most amazing, rewarding-yet-challenging experiences of my life.
Your most challenging project to date?
Trying to follow the KonMari Method! My dear husband bought me the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up almost two years ago and I just can't do it, I can't even finish reading the book, let alone clear our house, or my wardrobe. [sighs in panic]
What advice would you give your younger self, if you could?
Don't let anyone ever tell you your dreams are out of reach. Only you know your full potential and dreams do come true. First you dream it, then you do it.
If you could move to any place in the world, what place would that be?
The best place I have moved to is Dubai. I love this city, with its beaches and the surrounding desert, and also the vibe here. It is my little family's home too - this is where our boys were born and this is what they call home.
If, however, I had to choose another place to live, I think I would move to Ibiza. The white island with the yummiest food, beautiful beaches and laidback feel is our favourite spot for the summer and I would love to experience the quieter winter there too.
Favourite fictional character of all time - and why.
I have always had a soft spot for Paddington Bear. The cute fuzzy bear who travelled alone on a boat from Peru to London without a return ticket is a true globetrotter. He also has a wonderful attitude and believes that things will always turn out alright.
The best thing you've ever bought yourself and why?
I get the best feeling when giving back and donating for charity, but thinking of something that I have bought for myself. perhaps scented candles. We burn candles at home every evening, all year round. They create a lovely atmosphere and either emphasise the good vibes or cheer up.
A superpower you wish you had?
Time manipulation. If I could turn back the clock, good times would last longer and I would never be late again!
