(Before you reach for the Google click, like you probably do even in your dream state, I'll be needing a backing workout with your solutions. Meaning, no answers like "she downs canned humble pie while hardwiring her brains at the crack of dusk", etc.)
Six people with varying lifestyles had a certain breakfast time routine. They each had a particular breakfast, one being: anything available, at a certain time whilst enjoying a breakfast pastime. Breakfast times (all AM): 6:30, 6:50, 7:15, 7:35, 7:50 and 8:30. From the five clues given below, name what each person ate while doing what, and when.
(1) The person who read the newspaper had breakfast later than the person who liked to listen to the news on the radio, but earlier than the person who enjoyed silence at breakfast time. (2) Jasmine had her breakfast directly before the person who had toast, who had breakfast directly before the person who listened to music on the radio. (3) Cereal was eaten 20 minutes after the person who watched the Breakfast News on TV. Shivvy ate breakfast at 7:15. Lalit had breakfast sometime after Madhuban. A banana was not eaten at half past the hour. (4) Cuckoo's four cups of black coffee was not the breakfast taken last. Sausages & eggs were eaten directly after the toast. (5) Jog had his breakfast directly after the person who ate sausages and eggs, but directly before the person whose idea of a fun breakfast was shouting at the children.
DEAR MS
(The problem concerned a subtle no-win situation about pressing a YES or NO button with consequences. - MS)
Loser-Takes-All Dept:
In this case, I would have pressed yes and my friend no, so when I pressed the yes button it meant, YES, I will press the no button, meaning I had lost. When my friend pressed the no button it meant NO I will not press the no button, so he also lost.
.Aaraadhye K N, aaraadhyekn2411@gmail.com
The person who predicted YES surely lost out because the piece of paper reads "You will press the NO button". His friend could not rake in the thousand bucks either, for the simple reason that he said NO to the stuff written on the piece of paper; when in fact he did press the NO button. To make the prediction true, he should have pressed YES; which would lead us to the first case again. The paradox prevails and both the buddies lose out.

(The other problem was: "12 + 1 = 11 + 2. Correct, right? Now convert those numbers and the addition signs into words and you get something much more fantastic." - MS)
Dozen-Or-Doesn't Dept:
When the numbers are converted into words, it forms "twelve plus one". The letters can then be rearranged to form "eleven plus two" which is the same as the equation. This is an anagram. Quite fantastic when applied to maths!
.Ibrar-ul-Samad, VJibi_94@hotmail.com
The letters appearing on the left hand side are the same as on the right hand side. In other words, it is a total anagram.
.Sheikh Sintha Mathar, sheikhsm7@gmail.com
(The third problem concerned the words BUCKLE, CLIP, COOL, CUT, DUST, FAST, FIX, LEFT, PRESENTLY, REFRAIN, RIOT, ROOT, SCAN, SKIN and you had to figure what they had in common. - MS)
Double-Crossing Dept:
They are all Janus words, or auto-antonyms. For example, BUCKLE means to fasten or secure and also to collapse under weight, etc.
.Hari Ramachandran,
A few more examples: LEFT, POLICY, HELP, GOODS, WEATHER, SANCTION, SCREEN, CLEAVE, CHUFFED, RESIGN, SEED, OVERSIGHT, OFF, TRIM, STONE.
.Surya Krishna Moorthy, surya661666@yahoo.com
ENDGAME(S)
1.You could paint tires in all kinds of colours because you can mix the colour with the fluid rubber. So, why aren't tires coloured? (Submitted by Aravind Suresh, aravind.suresh@hotmail.com)
2.When you drop colourless water on your white shirt, why does the resulting stain appear darker?
