Overnight rains left multiple streets in Dubai and Sharjah flooded on Sunday. And on the day, all the emirates received moderate to heavy rains. Wadis overflowed in many areas. The lowest temperature recorded was a chilly 10 degrees Celsius.
By afternoon, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued an alert, urging motorists to drive carefully on internal roads and highways, and to stay away from valleys and flooded areas. The weatherman said rains of different intensity will hit the country on Monday and the spell is set to continue till Wednesday. "It will be cloudy. There will be rainfall with lightning and thunder at times over different areas during the daytime. Rain will continue during the night. Moderate to fresh and strong winds with speeds of up to 60kmphr will blow at times over the sea."
