Dubai resident Aishwarya Joshi is seen as a "humanity architect" after she progressed towards an innovative career path, to evolve into a successful social entrepreneur in the UAE.
She reiterates that "UAE has allowed her to live her passion for humanity and spread wings even outside the country through her humble social enterprise The Lighthouse Cohort". "This is precisely the reason I call UAE home away from home because it doesn't judge me but encourages and guides to achieve my vision for humanity at large," she said.
Aishwarya has delivered more than 50,000+ hours of volunteering and mobilised humanitarian aid worth more than Dh950, 000 peryear within the UAE for local causes. She has facilitated more than 20 humanitarian aid containers per year from the UAE to countries like Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Guinea, Bangladesh, Iraqi Kurdistan and similar conflict zones.
Smart Initiatives to help blue collar workers
Meanwhile, SmartLife, another NGO licensed by the Community Development Authority (CDA), Dubai, works closely with blue collar workers in the various labour accommodations in Dubai.
Programmes that have helped workers include reading and talent intiatives, medical camps, upskilling and languae learning to name a few.
Pencilman of UAE helps 100k kids
Dubai based chartered accountant K. Venkatraman, is fondly called 'Pencilman of UAE', as he supports over 100 thousand needy children across the world by supplying them tools of education such as stationery items, uniforms, toys, story books that he collects under the umbrella of Emirates Red Crescent and community partner with Engage Dubai. He supports children across 44 charity schools in Tamil Nadu, and many more such schools and NGOs across India.
