A two-year-old Emirati girl was suffocated to death late on Saturday after she got drowned in the swimming pool.

The little girl, identified only as R.R.A., was playing unattended next to the swimming pool of her home at the Bathnah area in the emirate of Fujairah when she accidently slipped into it.
Having received no timely assistance, the victim, who was not also wearing a life jacket, breathed her last on the spot. However, she was rushed to the Fujairah Hospital when discovered by family members.
Shocking: Three children drowned to death while chasing a cat
The little girl was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where the paramedics tried hard and several times to give artificial respiration to her to rescue her life, but to no avail.
Shortly thereafter, the hospital declared her tragic death, and referred her to the morgue of the hospital. The family collected her corpse and buried her late on Saturday.

Brigadier Mohammed bin Ghanim, Commander-in-Chief of the Fujairah Police, stated that they were alerted by the family about the drowning of the late girl late on Saturday.
"A National ambulance and a rescue team were dispatched to the site in a record time. The paramedics sent tried hard to resuscitate here, but in vain, and therefore she was rushed to the hospital where they could not also rescue her life."

Condoling with the family, Brig Bin Ghanim urged the family never to leave their little kids unattended close to any swimming pool whether indoors or outdoors. "Safety procedures should also be observed to avoid such dramatic incidents."
Khaleej Times tried to approach the distraught family, but they were in a state of shock. "All family members are deeply grieved for losing their little kid who was left unattended for a very short time," a neighbour said on condition of anonymity.
