The Roads and Transport Authority has completed the maintenance and development works of two arterial bridges on the Al Ittihad and Arabian Gulf squares against Dh2.7 million.
Maintenance: Sharjah-Ajman bridge to be closed for maintenance works
Official sources said the two major bridges were opened with full capacity for traffic on Sunday morning. "The two developed bridges have given a big boost to traffic flow and transport in Sharjah."

The Authority is, meanwhile, completing the regular maintenance and development works of all the bridges of the emirate, mainly the hinges which are being fortified.
Important: Traffic, road behaviour better in last 6 months... but tailgaters still run amok
"These works go in line with the new advanced bridges and roads being built across the emirate as per a well-studied plan to cope with the set schedules to ease and accelerate transport all over the emirate."
Shocking: Radars spot 347 traffic violations within a week
The concrete pillars, bases of the bridges, and supporting walls have all been maintained and fortified, they explained. "All maintenance works were carried out from 12:00 am to 5:00 am, with only a partial closure of some lanes."
The damaged and cracked parts, spanning the side pavements, have been maintained whereas the concrete surface and walls have been repainted, they underlined. "The iron parts were not repainted, though."
Relief: Big relief for Dubai-Sharjah commuters: New road opens
The regular maintenance works for the roads, bridges and subways of the emirate are on all the yearlong to enhance public safety and security. "They are also in line with the directions of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah."
