This trend can be mainly attributed to factors like the growing presence of high net-worth individuals and the UAE’s removal from the FATF’s grey list

Nuru Almazroui, 27, is among the few Emiratis who don't differentiate between public and private sector jobs. After having studied in a non-Arabic school with people of different nationalities, the young Emirati said she has always been open-minded to any and every possibility that came her way.
Due to certain circumstances, Almazroui had to start work immediately after high school and managed to get a job with a private company offering airport services. Four years later, she moved to the hospitality industry. Fast-forward four more years and today she is an assistant front office manager at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. Almazroui understands the importance of education, which is why she is now simultaneously pursuing a hospitality management course online to complete her graduation.
"I realised I liked dealing with people and serving them, which is why I am in this industry. And since I love what I do, I want to excel in it. I want to reach the position of general manager one day with this hospitality group, which would make me the first Emirati woman to reach that position here."
Almazroui noted that the private sector is now focusing on Emiratis. "Private sector firms are now going the extra mile for UAE nationals and focusing more on enhancing our skills. The focus on career growth and development of Emiratis is now growing in the private sector. They actually mentor us, guide us and build us for a strong career.
Almazroui believes that UAE nationals are given the opportunity to focus on careers and they must take it seriously. "We are well looked after and that's a great advantage and the country has given us enough opportunities."
Advising young Emiratis, she added: "Take one step at a time. There is no shame in doing any job because a job is a job. At the end of the day this is our country, we should work hard and build it ourselves."
