The International Astronomical Center (IAC) in Abu Dhabi has announced that this Friday, July 13, a partial solar eclipse will take place.
The eclipse will be visible from certain areas in Australia and Antarctica.
According to the centre, the sun will be see a 34 per cent eclipse of its total area.
In addition, at 2:48am GMT, the crescent moon of Thul Qi'da will be visible, as Mohammed Shawkat, Director of the IAC, stated.
The crescent will be visible from the western-most Arab countries on Friday, whereas the rest of the countries will be seeing the moon on Saturday.
This would mean that some countries will see the start of the 11th Hijri month on Saturday, whereas others will see it on Sunday.
