His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved Kalba public park project at Al Ghail district in the emirate.
The project will include shaded rest houses, BBQ areas, sports facilities and public services utilities.
Ali bin Shaeen, Chairman of Sharjah Public Works Department, has said that the Department of Planning and Survey will allocate a plot of land for the park, which is part of development plan for municipal councils.
"The Kalba Park will be modelled on the Sharjah National Park so as to become a round-the-year attractive tourist and recreational destination for families and visitors," the Chairman of Sharjah Public Works Department added.
He also revealed that the Ruler of Sharjah gave his consent for building a rubber walkway in the Sidra Women's Garden and instructed the Department to start work on the Al Saf and Mafraq gardens.
Two other gardens were approved by the Ruler in Al Sayouh districts 4 and 6.
