Schools across the UAE will remain open during the three-day mourning period announced following the death of Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Government departments and institutions in Dubai will also remain open during the mourning period. National flags at government institutions will fly at half-mast, the Dubai Ruler's Court announced.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai posted on its Twitter handle: "Schools will remain open tomorrow. May Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed's soul rest in peace."
When news broke of 34-year-old Shaikh Rashid's death, the KHDA tweeted: "We are devastated about the loss of Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed. May his soul rest in peace."
