Three Arab nationals were seriously injured when the roof of commercial and residential building located in Al Nuaimiyah in Ajman, collapsed on them.
The accident also caused severe damage to four cars parked in front side of the building.
Colonel Nasser Al Zari, the spokesperson for Ajman Civil Defense said that they received a call about the accident at 10:30 pm. They immediately dispatched the rescue unit and the ambulance which rushed the injured men to the Khalifa Hospital and evacuated the entire building.
The building is old and is not safe for accommodation. The civil defense referred the case to the concerned authorities for investigation and action.
The municipality inspection was immediately sent to determine whether the building was safe for accommodation or not.
The initial inspection report revealed that the walls of the building had a lot of cracks in them which caused the roof to collapse. The committee will continue its investigation to determine the cause of the accident and then take its decision against the owner.
