Road fatalities in Fujairah have declined by 31 per cent during the third quarter of the year compared to the same period last year.
Major-General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of the Fujairah Police, said this year five people were killed in road accidents, while last year witnessed seven deaths during the same period.
Al Kaabi attributed the decrease to the implementation of the Ministry of Interior's strategy, which is aimed at improving road safety and reducing fatalities caused by accidents in the emirate.
The police have also made great efforts to find quick solutions to reduce accidents by studying the situation of the roads. The police have also intensified traffic deployment in vital areas to monitor traffic movement and ease congestions.
