The Ras Al Khaimah Police has attended to 5,408 calls during the Eid Al Adha holidays.
Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, acting chief commandant of the RAK Police, said strategies were in place and all hands were on deck to ensure that everyone was safe and the traffic flow was smooth throughout the busy period. "At least 77 security and traffic patrols have been deployed across the emirate to attend to all calls and reports instantly," he said.
The patrols covered every corner of the emirate, particularly tourist places, parks, markets, residential areas, and other venues of public gatherings.
Brigadier Mohammed Saeed Al Humaid, director-general of the central operations room of the RAK Police, said that aside from the patrols, "over 131,000 surveillance cameras were activated".
All internal roads and highways of the emirate were monitored by advanced cameras round the clock, he added.
